Today i’m sharing all the home birth supplies i have been gathering over the past several weeks.
My midwife gave me a list of everything needed for my home birth, so all these things were on that list. *I will try to link as many things as possible, to make it easier for you to find in case you are also having a home birth.*
Some items i already had on hand, like the laundry basket for example. Other items i had never even heard of before, like Arnica Tablets for example.
Getting ready for this home birth has definitely been an experience. I can’t wait until baby is born, so i can share how my first ever home birth & natural birth went. As i’m sure it’s going to be an incredible experience.

Last week my midwife came out to my house to get a feel of the space we will be birthing in and also to check that i’ve gathered all my home birth supplies.
While she was here, she did my regular checkup and everything is looking great with baby & me.
At my 34 week checkup i was measuring 2 weeks ahead (36 weeks), but at my 36 week checkup i was measuring right at 36 weeks.
As far as symptoms go, i’ve been having more and more contractions. I’ve also been having a lot of morning sickness, which i’ve never experienced 3rd trimester morning sickness before with any of my other pregnancies. It’s also been harder to fall asleep and stay asleep.
That’s about it for this update, not much else to share. I will now be doing weekly updates until baby is born, so be sure to check back next week to see how things are going.
Today i thought i would share what my plans are, concerning homeschool, after baby number 6 is born.
Baby number 6 is going to be the 3rd baby born since we have become a homeschooling family. Baby number 4 was born at the end of June and we didn’t start back to homeschooling until August, so i had a bit of a break there. Baby number 5 was born at the beginning of August and we started back to homeschooling at the end of August/beginning of September. So i have homeschooled with a newborn before.
With baby number 6 though, i want a bigger break than just 2 weeks. We have been a year-round homeschooling family for a few years now, however this year we haven’t been doing 6 weeks on 1 week off. The reason for that is, i wanted to get as much school done with before baby number 6 is born. That way once he is born, we can take 4 weeks off.
That’s my plan, once baby number 6 is born, we will take at least 4 weeks off. Then once we start back to homeschooling, we will enter into it lightly. We probably won’t go back to a full schedule for at least another 2 weeks after that.
I want to enjoy the time with my new baby, plus take the time to get adjusted to being a family of 8.
