We Love Earth Week 2018 {Day 5}

Hi Guys!

Today is day 5 of my “We Love The Earth Week” celebration. Let’s see what we have going on today…

  • Today’s activity was going on a walk and picking up trash along the way.

It was super windy, but the kids all enjoyed picking up trash.

That’s it for today! Stop by again tomorrow for day 6!

We Love Earth Week 2018 {Day 4}

Hi Guys!

Here’s what we got going on for day 4 of our “We Love Earth Week” celebration…

  • Today’s snack is cookies! Sugar cookies with food coloring, to make them look like the Earth.

  • Today’s arts/crafts project is making EARTH signs.
    Here is how you make them:
    First you start out with a piece of construction paper or cardstock (any color you want to use will do, i just happened to have blue paper on hand).
    Using glue write out the letters EARTH.

Then take whatever you have found around your yard (grass, flowers, dirt, sticks, etc.) and attach it to the glue.

And something like this should be your outcome…

That’s it for today’s celebration! Stop by again tomorrow for day 5!

We Love Earth Week 2018 {Day 3}

Hi Guys!

Today is day 3 of my “We Love Earth Week” celebration!

Here’s what we have been up today:

  • Our snack for today was inspired from this pinterest post, however mom fail, i forgot to buy pretzel sticks, so my kids really had no idea what this was supposed to be…

tree snack earth day

Oh well, they all still ate it. I added in the banana slice to make it look like the sun.

  • I download that printable yesterday from Teachers Pay Teachers and it had these fun word wall cards that we used today to talk about different Earth Day vocabulary words and ways that they each help the Earth.

Then we drew pictures of how we can help the Earth

Dasean drew the Earth giving himself a thumbs up for drawing himself recycling.

That’s it for our celebration today! Be sure to stop by tomorrow for day 4!

We Love Earth Week 2018 {Day 2}

Hi Guys!

I’m back with day 2 of our week long “We Love Earth Week” celebration!

Here’s what’s on the agenda today:

  • For our snack today we are having “Ants on a log”

I make mine a little differently than the norm, because my kids don’t like raisins. For our “Ants on a log” we use; celery, natural peanut butter, and vegan chocolate chips. All my kiddos thoroughly enjoyed them, here’s Cruz giving them a thumbs up!

  • Weather permitting we are going on a nature walk today, and i’m going to use this free printable from Teachers Pay Teachers.

  • The Earth Day documentary we started watching yesterday is pretty long, so we are finishing it up today.

That’s all we have planned for today. Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for day 3!

Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year! Or should i say, Gung Hay Fat Choy! {Which means “Happy New Year” in Chinese}

That picture is from our Chinese New Year celebration back in 2015!

I didn’t go all out like i did that year with celebrating. In fact this year’s celebration only included me buying a big bag of fortune cookies and my kids spitting them out because they “tasted really bad like chemicals”. So yay me! Mom of the year award stuff going on over here. (Totally being sarcastic)

Anyways, I wanted to share with you some Chinese New Year printables i have created over the years.

  • My Chinese New Year pack

It has over 30 pages, which include:

  • 12 writing pages
  • 18 coloring pages
  • an All About Me page
  • Cutting practice
  • Matching
  • and MUCH more!!!

This is one of the writing pages…

This is what one of the coloring pages looks like…

And here is a fun page…

If you are interested in getting my Chinese New Year pack, you can download it HERE!

  • Chinese New Year Bookmarks

Aren’t they adorable?! You can download them for yourself, HERE!

I hope you all have a great Chinese New Year!

Tip Tuesday #2

Hi Guys!

I’m back with another Tip Tuesday! (You can check out my previous Tip Tuesday #1 HERE)

Tip Tuesday

Today i’m going to share with you my tip for storing completed homeschool paperwork.

Before i show you how i store our completed paperwork, i just wanted to let you know that my state doesn’t have any requirements for as far as keeping documents is concerned. However, i like to keep all the work my children have completed just in case.

Here is how i do it.

Once my kids have completed an assignment, they hand it to me and i grade it right away. Then i go over it with them if they got anything wrong, or just hand it back to them to turn in.

When they turn it in, they put it on this 3-tier desk shelf.

Once their shelf gets pretty full, then i empty it into our banker boxes.

I love these boxes. I’ve been using them for holding our completed homeschool paperwork for since 2015! The great thing about these boxes is, they can fit the entire school years worth of paperwork into one of them!

Then their shelf is empty and ready to be filled up again with more completed work.

So, to summarize my Tip Tuesday #2, if you want an easy way to store your child’s school work, use these awesome banker boxes!
