Fall Favorites 2018

Fall is in full force over here; cool mornings, pleasantly warm/sunny afternoons, and chilly evenings. After surviving a very hot and dry summer (we haven’t had a good rainy day since late May/early June), i’m so loving this fall weather. Bring on the cooler temps and *hopefully soon* rainy days.

Just in case you live in an area of the country where it doesn’t feel like fall yet, I thought today i’d share with you some of my fall favorites which can help get that fall like feeling even if it’s 90 degrees outside…

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Apple Cider Multi-Surface Spray – No i’m not affiliated with Grove Collaborative, and this post is not sponsored by them. I didn’t even buy this from them. I just happened to be strolling through the isles of Target, you know like any Mom does, when there i saw it. The most beautiful display of Fall scented cleaners. I had the difficult choice of choosing between Pumpkin and Apple Cider, i choose Apple Cider and i believe i choose correctly. This stuff smells amazing and works great! When we use it the whole house starts smelling like fall.

Autumn Set of 6 Premium Fragrance Oils – These are fragrance oils not essential oils, but if you add a few drops to a diffuser they make your whole house smell amazing! I especially love the Apple scent.

Artificial Autumn Flowers – Why have i not discovered these before? I bought some at Michael’s a few weeks ago and i am in love with them. They add a bright pop of color and on the plus side i don’t have to worry about watering them or them dying.

Starbucks Drinks – Pumpkin Spice Latte or Salted Caramel Mocha are both great drinks to have you feeling like it’s fall. Or you could make your own PSL at home, this recipe looks yummy!

DIY Pumpkin Spice Soap – If you missed my blog post on how i made it, you should really check it out. All it takes is a few ingredients and like 10 minutes to make some wonderfully fall smelling homemade soap. {link to read that blog post here —>DIY Pumpkin Spice Soap}

Autumn Dinner Plates – I found these last year at Walmart on clearance, they were only $1 each. I bought the remaining 4 they had. They are so cute and i just feel like they add a little something extra to the dinner table.

March Favorites

Hi Guys!

I have some great favorites from March that i can’t wait to share with you all today.march favs

Kisses From Katie was by far my favorite book i read in March, heck it’s now one of my favorite books of all time. It was so life changing good! Seriously, if you haven’t read it yet, read it!

And because we have been looking for a house, i have to share my favorite app that helped in the house hunting journey. The Realtor App is amazing. You can enter in all your search criteria (4 beds, 2 baths, 2000 square feet, location, etc.) and it will give you a list of all the houses that meet that criteria. And one of the major reasons i loved it so much, was i felt like it updated (and gave more information, i.e. contingent houses, etc.) quicker than Zillow does.

Remember how i gave up coffee for February? Well, sadly i started drinking coffee again in March. However, i’m drinking it without my old usual half-n-half. I started using coconut milk creamer and although its totally different from half-n-half, so don’t go pick some up thinking “ah this will be just like drinking coffee with half-n-half”, it’s not too bad.

The Greatest Showman…. Best movie ever! Greatest soundtrack ever! Need i say more?! I’ve have been totally obsessed with the movie since it came out on Amazon Prime March 20th.  I went a bought the soundtrack like a week later. Love, love, love it!

I bought the Quieting Your Heart: 6-Month Prayer Journal almost a year ago, and i’m just now getting into using it. I’ve been enjoying it a lot lately, it’s been a great place to write down what’s been in my heart. I’m totally a pen and paper kinda gal, so this works great for me.

That’s it! Those are my favorites for March! Hope you enjoyed hearing all about them. Leave me a comment, and let me know what your favorite things are right now!

Easter Books & Movies

Hi Guys!

Easter is only 6 days away! Can you believe that?! Are you ready yet? I haven’t done ANY shopping at all. Whoops! I really need to get on that.

However, in the meantime i can feel like a person who is somewhat on top of things, by reading Easter books and watching Easter movies with my kids. So today i am sharing some of my favorites with you all…

Easter Favs

I’ll start with books first:

Now for the movies:

I’ve linked all the books, so you can easily find them on Amazon.

For the movies, i checked first to see if they were on Netflix for instant streaming, but unfortunately they are NOT. I did link all the movies so you can find them on Amazon, which if you have Amazon Prime, they are all available for Rent or Buy.

What’s your favorite Easter books/movies? I’d love to hear your picks in the comments!

Feb Favs

My favorite book i read in February was She Is Yours: Trusting God As You Raise the Girl He Gave You. by Jonathan and Wynter Pitts. It was a really great book with lots of good prayers to pray over your daughters.

Because i went without coffee for all of February, i was drinking this delicious smoothie and it was definitely one of my favorite things for February.

It only takes 4 ingredients:

  • Almond Milk (about 1 cup)
  • Peanut Butter (1 to 2 tablespoons)
  • Frozen Bananas (1 to 2 bananas, depending on size)
  • Frozen Strawberries (about 1/4 to 1/2 cup)

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth… Add more milk if necessary.

Enjoy!

And for my last favorite thing for February, K-Love radio station.

At the end of January/ beginning of February, i decided i wanted my life (and my children’s) to be filled with more positive and encouraging things. I randomly changed the radio station one day in the car and found K-Love, which i had never heard of before. I haven’t changed the station at all since finding K-Love. I love their music!

One of my favorite songs right now is “More Than Anything” by Natalie Grant.

January Favorites

I’ve decided to do something new and fun on the blog. At the beginning of each month i am going to share my favorite things (products, books, etc.) from the previous month.

Today i’m sharing with you my favorite things from January.

january favs

In no particular order, here are my favorites from January.

Create365 The Deluxe Classic Happy Planner Faith Edition – I love this planner so much! For starters it’s pretty! And i love how it has bible verses and quotes throughout it. It also has a monthly calendar page and then weekly pages. I’ve been using it to menu plan and also to keep track of extracurricular activities.

IMG_3766

IMG_3772

Bullet Journal – I first heard about bullet journaling through Pinterest. I had been wanting to start one for well over a year now, when i finally decided to buy myself one. I love it. It’s a fun way to keep everything organized and written out.

IMG_3773

Huhuhero Pens – Because you can’t bullet journal without pretty pens! I also use them in my planner.

IMG_3774

Paper Mate Flair Pens – These pens write so beautifully! They are sort of like a marker, yet they are a pen. I was instantly hooked on them. Some of them are missing from the photo above, because i use them everywhere throughout the house and didn’t feel like hunting them down for a photo. (Sorry)

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (Siberia) – I’ve been using Covergirl foundation forever, but I’ve never really loved it. This (NARS) foundation i love so very much! I can’t believe i haven’t tried it sooner. It covers so beautifully. It’s well worth the money.

IMG_3713

Washing my face with Coconut Oil –  I started washing my face with coconut oil and I’ve been really happy with the results. I have adult acne and the coconut oil has helped to keep it under control.

IMG_3775

The Best Yes – This was by far my favorite book i read in January. I just love Lysa’s writing style. She makes me laugh, she makes me cry. I always finish her books wanting more.

That’s it! Those are my favorite things from January! What was your favorite thing (product, book, etc.) from January?
