Healthy Camping Snacks – Fitness Friday {May 27, 2022}

Hey Guys!

Today i’m back with another Fitness Friday. Sorry there was no Fitness Friday last week, we went camping.

Which is why today i’m talking about healthy snacks to take camping, that way you don’t find yourself reaching for the bad stuff and blowing all your weight loss/health goals.

Here are some of the healthy snacks i took camping…

Fruit – I packed bananas and apples, just because they are the 2 easiest fruit for transporting and they don’t need refrigeration.

Rice Cakes – I love the white cheddar flavor, and at only 45 calories per cake it’s a great snack for weight loss.

One Protein Bar – I did a review recently on these bars, if you want to know more about them, you can read that post HERE. I love the maple glazed doughnut flavor and these are great to take camping.

Trail Mix – At 140 calories for only 1/4 cup, this isn’t the greatest weight loss snack in my opinion. Plus it has a lot of sugar. But for me it’s not camping without trail mix. My whole family loves to eat trail mix when camping. Which is why i didn’t get a picture of it, my whole family ate it all up before i could. Anyways this is the one we like, the Walmart brand Indulgent flavor.

What’s your favorite healthy snack to take camping? I’d love some more ideas for next time.

Meal Prep Ideas – Fitness Friday {May 13, 2022}

Hey Guys!

I’m back with another Fitness Friday!

Today i’m sharing some meal prep ideas to help keep you on track with healthy eating, so you can accomplish your weight loss goals.

It’s much easier for me to eat a healthy lunch, if i already have them prepped and ready to go.

Here are a few of my favorite meal prep ideas…

Lo Mein – I’ve shared this before in my “what i eat in a day post”, i love this meal. It’s so delicious, and i figured out the calories are only around 179 for one container. The whole wheat pasta makes it a very filling meal, and i love that you can customize the veggies.

Beef & Broccoli – My 16 year old even loved this meal, he said he actually prefers this recipe than the original Beef & Broccoli i make with stir fry meat. At only 252 calories per serving, it is a great meal for weight loss.

Turkey Taco Salad – This one is 203 calories per serving, healthy and delicious!

Peanut Butter Banana Wrap – This one can’t really be made days in advance, because the banana would turn brown, but it is a yummy meal quick meal. I’m not sure on the calories, but all my kids love it too.

Snack Lunch – Turkey, Cheese, Crackers, Cherry Tomatoes, Hard Boiled Egg, and grapes. This is a good one to have on the days you are just wanting a snacky type lunch.

I hope you enjoyed these different meal prep ideas. Which one was your favorite?

Essential Oils:

Rainy Days ~ Focus, Focus, Focus ~ Pollen Buster – These have been my go-to oils lately. I love the smell of Rainy Days. I’ve been using Focus, Focus, Focus in our homeschool room. Pollen Buster has been helping with my seasonal allergies lately.

I’m also loving diffusing a mix of; orange, spearmint, and eucalyptus lately. It smells so good!

Podcasts:

Happy Homebirth, Dateline, and The Bible Binge – I just recently started listening to podcasts. I don’t listen very often, maybe once a month or so, but when i do listen these are the different podcasts i like.

Apps/Websites:

The Daily Grace Co, Jane, Her Hearts Co, and Albertsons – I know this is a weird mix of websites/apps, especially since I’ve added in a grocery store app, but i love that the Albertsons app has tons of coupons and deals. Jane is always where i go for cute clothing, nail wraps, and jewelry. The Daily Grace Co always has amazing deals on great Bible studies, and Her Hearts Co is the place to shop for homeschool mom gear.

Drinks:

Black coffee and Blackberry Lemonade – I love these blackberry lemonade water enhancer packets from Walmart. So Good! I’m also really loving black coffee. I started drinking it because of fasting, but now i actually enjoy it.

YouTube:

Dad Challenge Podcast, Bikini Body Mommy, and Farmhouse On Boone – The Dad Challenge Podcast is bringing awareness to the exploitation of children by family vloggers on YouTube, some of his videos are hard to watch. I’m currently on day 25 of challenge 10 on Bikini Body Mommy. Farmhouse On Boone is always sharing great recipes.
