Goals for April 2019 *Update*

Hey there!

Last month i shared my goals for April, and today i’m going to tell you how i did with my April goals…

april 2019 goals update

  1. Lose 7 pounds – I failed last month to lose any weight, in fact i gained weight, so i’m really going to hit it hard this month. I’ve been struggling since the middle of February to lose weight at a good and steady pace. I lost some this month (3 pounds), but missed this goal.
  2. Read 4 books – I’m doing pretty good hitting all my book reading goals and i want to continue doing well, so i’m setting a smaller goal this month. I was able to accomplish reading 4 books in April!
  3. Get 10,000 steps every day – I’m lowering it down this month, only to take some pressure off of myself. I’m starting to feel myself getting burnt out from big goalsThere was only one day in April where i didn’t get over 10,000 steps.
  4. De-clutter my closet – My closet is in desperate need of attention. My goal this month is to get it cleaned out and organized. I was so happy to clean out, organize, and de-clutter my closet. I’m so glad i made this one of my goals for the month and that i was able to do it!

I feel like the past couple of months i’ve been super struggling with reaching all my goals, i’m really going to push myself harder this month to reach my goals. How are you doing with your goals?

Goals for May 2019

Hello!

Every month this year, i am making goals for that month and sharing them with you all. Today i’m going to be sharing my goals for May…

may goals 2019

  1. Go to the park 1 time each week – Now that our homeschool co-op has ended for the Summer (which i will share more about that next week), we have more time in our schedule so i thought it would be fun to go to the park every week to burn off some energy.
  2. Buy the rest of our curriculum for next school year – I’ve started buying piece by piece our curriculum for the next school year (which starts in July for us), so this month i really want to finish up buying all of our curriculum.
  3. Wear a skirt/dress every day – I challenged myself a few years ago to wear skirts/dresses for one month, but i only made it half way through the month. I’m hoping this time i will be successful.
  4. Read 3 books – My full reading challenge for this year is 50 books, i’ve already read 20 books, so i feel like 3 books this month will be a good goal for me.

That’s it, those are my goals for the month. I’d love to hear your goals.

Goals For March 2019 *Update*

Hi Guys!

Last month i shared my goals for March, and today i’m going to tell you how i did with my March goals…

march goals 2019 update

  1. Lose 5 pounds – This is the same number i had last month, and i think it’s doable again for March. I failed this goal big time! I actually gained 1 pound!
  2. Read 6 books – This is a jump from my previous months of reading 4 books, however i think it’s totally doableI’m excited that i was able to complete this goal! I did a lot of reading in March!
  3. Get at least 15,000 steps each day – It was tough to get 15,000 steps every day last month, that’s why i don’t want to increase it yet. Yes, i was able to complete this goal again!
  4. Go on 2 field trips – We didn’t go on any field trips last month, so i really want to go on 2 this month. We did go on 2 field trips, finally!
  5. Remodel our camper trailer – We have an older camper trailer, that we temporarily fixed up a few years ago. Now we are really wanting to do a full makeover on it. I really hope we can get it done this month. We started taking apart the camper trailer, only to realize how badly rotted all the wood and everything was. So after gutting everything from inside, we have put a hold on the project to decide our next steps.
  6. Plant a garden – With Spring right around the corner, now is the time for us to start planting. We got several things planted and we are about to plant more this weekend.

As you can see, i accomplished most of my goals for the month, however I’ve just been in a funk lately and working out/eating healthy have been incredibly hard for me. And that shows with my lack of weight loss. I’m really hoping i can pull myself together for April.

If you set goals for yourself in March, i’d love to hear how it went for you. Did you crush all your goals? Did you struggle to accomplish them?

Goals For February 2019 *Update*

Hi Guys!

Last month i shared my goals for February, and today i’m going to tell you how i did with my February goals…

Feb 2019 goals update

I’m kind of scared to share this update because February was a tough month for me, but here goes.

  1. Read 4 books – This is the same goal i had last month, however this goal will increase next month. I completed this goal easily, and even started reading a 5th book!
  2. Lose 5 pounds – Since February is a shorter month and it has a few different holidays, plus one of my kids birthday, i thought i would make my goal smaller. This was sooo tough, but i did it! I lost 5 pounds last month!
  3. Buy only 1 coffee from a coffee shop – I feel like if i don’t have this goal i will buy coffee every time i leave the house, so this goal is sticking around. I failed this goal HARD! I got 4-5 coffees out last month.
  4. Get at least 15,000 steps each day – This shouldn’t be too hard of a goal for me to accomplish, but it is a step up from last month. I did it, but man some days i just didn’t want to take another step. This was tougher than i thought it was going to be.
  5. Go on 2 field trips – Last month my goal was 3 field trips and i believe that if i didn’t set that as a goal we probably wouldn’t have gone on any, so i’m keeping them in for now until it becomes a habit. Another failed goal, we didn’t go on ANY field trips last month.
  6. Workout 5 times a week – Another goal that is the same as last month. I feel like it works well for me though. I completed this goal, but not without trouble.
  7. Blog 3 times a week – I don’t know if you noticed, but my January posts were not consistent at all. I really want to get more consistent with blogging, so hopefully having this goal will push me to get better at it. I kind of completed this goal, but not really. I tried my best and i think there was one week where i only ended up doing 2 posts that week. So it was close, but not a complete victory.
  8. Do some form of scripture writing every day – I really want to get more into the habit of studying the bible, memorizing scripture, etc., so i’m hoping this helps me with that. I started off strong, but completely failed this one. I maybe did it for like a week, and never did it again. So another failed goal.

As you can see February was just a tough month for me, lots of failed goals, but i’m not giving up. March is going to be amazing, and i’m going to crush all those goals. Tomorrow i will be sharing my goals for March.

If you set goals for yourself for February, i’d love to hear how it went for you. Did you crush all your goals? Did you struggle (like i did)?

Current Health Journey *Update*

Last month i shared my health journey, and today i figured it was time to give an update on how everything is going…

Current Health Journey update

As of today (2/25/19) i am down 19 pounds from the beginning of the year!!

429ee849973123c0127a0e2d30e77bfb--weight-loss-calculator-super-funny

In my previous post i shared how i’ve been doing it (i.e. my workouts, diet, etc.), so i thought i would share those things again because some of it has changed since then.

First for my workout schedule.

I’m currently working out 5-6 times a week. I tried to do Bikini Body Mommy again, because i really liked it the last time i did it, but i only made it like 9 days before giving up. Here is why it just doesn’t work for me… I don’t sweat enough/burn enough calories for it to make an impact on my weight loss. I do love how it works out your entire body, seriously i can’t walk right for days after starting that program, but in the end it just doesn’t fit me.

So i’m still running on the treadmill, which i absolutely love! I’ve been working on getting stronger and faster at running 1 mile, and i’m super happy to report that my newest fastest time is 9 minutes and 38 seconds. That is a HUGE improvement from 14+ minutes when i first started running back in January!

I would really love to be able to run more than 1 mile, but i’m pretty wiped out after 1 mile, so that’s all i’m doing right now.

Besides working out 5-6 times a week, i’m also getting over 15,000 steps every single day (workout day or not!). Most days i average 18,000 steps, and on a really good day i can get 25,000 steps.

Now for my diet.

I’m still trying to stay away from: chocolate, candy, soda, bread, pasta, rice, and ice cream.

I shared a beachbody meal plan in my last post that i was using, and it was pretty good. I also discovered another beachbody meal plan that i ended up liking even more.

Here is the meal plan:

Breakfast M/W/F: Sautéed Kale and Red Bell Pepper Egg Cups (based on the Sautéed Kale with Poached Eggs recipe on page 32 of the Eating Plan)

Breakfast T/Th: Greek Yogurt Bowl

Lunch M/W/F: Seasoned Turkey and Black Bean Burrito Bowl

Lunch T/Th: Spinach and Roast Beef Salad

Snack M/W/F: Herbed Yogurt Dip with Raw Veggies

Snack T/Th: Hard-Boiled Egg and Baby Carrots

Dinner M/W/F: Spaghetti Squash with Meat Sauce and Parmesan Cheese

Dinner T/Th: Jalapeño and Cheese Turkey Burgers

Core_de_Force_Meal_Prep_1200-1500_-_Full_Prep_11

Seriously i loved all the foods on this meal plan!! So good!!

That’s it, that’s how i’m losing the weight and getting healthier. Are you on your own health journey? I’d love to hear what you are doing, and how it is going?
