Top 5 Christian Movies

Hi Guys!

You know one of the things i love most about autumn is cold/rainy days cuddled up in a warm blanket watching good movies. Today i thought i would share my top 5 favorite christian movies that you could enjoy on your next cold/rainy day, or on any day for that matter.

Here are my top 5 favorite christian movies…

*A little heads up, although these are all christian movies, some of them deal with adult issues so they might not be appropriate to watch with little children around.*

  • Fireproof  – “Kirk Cameron (Left Behind) stars as Caleb Holt, a heroic fire captain who values dedication and service to others above all else. But the most important partnership in his life, his marriage, is about to go up in smoke. This gripping story follows one man’s desire to transform his life and marriage through the healing power of faith and fully embrace the fireman’s code: Never Leave Your Partner Behind.”
  • Courageous – “Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused, standing up to the worst the streets can offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge they’re ill prepared to tackle: fatherhood. When tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering.”
  • War Room – “Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving. Their world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage.”
  • God’s Not Dead – “When an atheist Philosophy professor (Kevin Sorbo) plans to forego “dusty arguments” in his class, he insists the new students declare that “God is dead.” Unable to do this, Josh (Shane Harper) is challenged to defend his faith and prove to the class that God’s Not Dead. Against all odds, Josh stands up for his faith and takes on the challenge.”
  • Heaven Is For Real – “Heaven is for Real recounts the true story of a small-town father who must find the courage and conviction to share his son’s extraordinary, life-changing experience with the world.”

Hi Guys!

A few weeks ago i shared my idea for an Anniversary Box. Well, since yesterday was our anniversary i thought i would share how the Anniversary Box went.

Here’s what my husband and I ended up putting in our box:

We had a lot of fun doing this. Other things we both thought about adding to the box, but didn’t get around to doing, were:

  • Movie tickets
  • Wine
  • Massage oils
  • Cookbook (to try new recipes together)
  • Small decor items for the bedroom

I think this will be a new tradition for us every year, because it was so much fun! If you end up doing an anniversary box of your own, let me know! I’d love to hear about your experience.

Marriage Surviving Through Hard Times

Hi Guys!

I’m back with another Monday Marriage post.

Today i’m talking about how to have your marriage not just survive, but thrive during hard times.

photo-1503314885798-a70f8f9028d3

We all face hard times in our lives. Whether it’s for a day, week, month, or even years. There are going to be hard times.

My husband and i went through a really rough patch during the recession of 2008/2009. We lost just about everything. However, our marriage was able to survive. How did we do it?

Faith.

Communication.

Fighting.

We had to keep a strong faith that everything would turn out just fine in the end. Otherwise we would have been just miserable. When you have a positive attitude, even during the hardest of times, it makes those hard times easier to bare.

Keeping open lines of communication is always a must in relationships. Just being able to say to your significant other, hey i’m having a bad day and having them talk you through it is major.

Fighting for your marriage. Fighting for your significant other. It’s so important.

If you do all those 3 things; keeping faith, communicating, and fighting for your marriage during hard/challenging times, you will see at the end of your troubles your marriage has not only found a way to survive but it has thrived. You both are more connected then ever.

And if any new troubles come your way, you now have the knowledge (and first hand experience) of how to survive them.
